In Romania there are several institutions taking care of social security laws and regulations:
Romania's individual income tax rates for 2008 are flat at 16%.
Romanian individuals pay tax on their Romanian and worldwide income. Non-residents individuals pay tax only on Romanian income.
The amount deducted is 17% of the gross salary at the following amounts:
- Social Security: 9.5%
- Health Fund: 6.5%
- Unemployment Fund: 1%

Most of the houses in Romania are owner-occupied. Prices will depend on demand conditions, size of the accommodation rented and geographic location.
It is advisable to use the services of an estate agency in addition to newspapers specializing in classified ads.
In Romania is very common that you have to pay your bills in the office of the services provider. You will need to pay your bill before the deadline enclosing your bill document; otherwise the service will be cut automatically.
To open a bank account in Romania you will need generally a passport. Some banks can require bank statement from previous accounts, proof of residence, or other ID documents.
